Dyscalculia.io is built by the team behind the Dyscalculia: Numeracy & Math app, available on Android. The app came first; the website brings the same screening games and the same approach to practice to any browser, so families, teachers and adults can use them without installing anything.
We are a small software team focused on one problem: making basic number skills easier to check and easier to practise. We are not a clinic, an assessment service or a school, and we do not present ourselves as one.
What Dyscalculia.io offers
There are two parts. The first is a free dyscalculia test — five short games that take about five minutes and produce a skills profile with a strength and a focus area. There is also a version explained for grown-ups, the dyscalculia test for adults.
The second is a paid daily practice program: 196 levels across 10 exercise types and 4 age worlds, with spaced repetition that brings skills back before they fade. It costs $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year, and the first 5 levels of each age world are free with an account. Payments are non-refundable and you can cancel at any time; see the refund policy and terms.

How the Dyscalculia.io test was built
The test uses the same five games, items and scoring as the Dyscalculia app. Each game looks at one basic number skill that research has linked to dyscalculia, rather than at school maths. That is why the same games work for a four-year-old and an adult.1,2,3,4,5
- Count the Dots — subitizing, the ability to see small amounts at a glance without counting.
- Which is Bigger? — linking a written digit to the quantity it stands for.
- Which Group Has More? — approximate number sense, estimating which of two groups is larger.
- Place the Number — the mental number line, placing a number between 0 and 100.
- Remember the Digits — working memory for number sequences.

Every factual claim on our pages — how common dyscalculia is, which skills are affected, whether difficulties persist — is linked to a peer-reviewed source that can be looked up on PubMed. Sources are listed under the section they support. If we cannot find a published source for a claim, we leave the claim out.
We do not make medical claims. We do not say the test identifies dyscalculia or that the program cures it, and we do not publish invented statistics, testimonials, ratings or endorsements. Every page shows the date it was last updated, and we revise pages when the research or our product changes. If a qualified professional reviews a page in future, their name and role will be shown on it.

The screening runs entirely in your browser. You do not need an account or an email address to take it, and the answers are not sent to our servers.
